PROJECT DESCRIPTION I was commissioned by Hungarian publishing house Európa Könyvkiadó to design covers for J. D. Salinger's works. 'Franny and Zooey' was published in 2014, followed by 'Nine Stories' and 'The Catcher in the Rye' in 2015, and finally 'Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour: An Introduction' in 2016. Salinger gave strict instructions regarding the cover designs for his books and forbid any illustrative elements, which is why a purely typographic approach seemed justified.
